Au revoir Robert Conrad (1935 - 2020)

Un mythe s'en est allé.

ROBERT CONRAD (1935 - 2020)

Tellement de souvenirs sont rattachés à Robert Conrad et à tous les personnages qu’il a incarnés et qui ont accompagné mon enfance, mon adolescence et celles de tant d'autres enfants autour du monde !

Il n'était pas forcément le meilleur acteur du monde mais celui qui avait le plus de charisme, de personnalité, d’assurance... L'homme que nous voulions devenir... Les yeux, le sourire et les poings les plus ravageurs d’Hollywood. 

On l’a vu vieillir au long de ses séries, et, ces 10 dernières années, de son émission de radio sur CRN Talk... 

Il est parti rejoindre Ross Martin et tous les autres, comme Jacques Thibault, qui l’aura si bien fait parler français.

A LIFE IN MY MIND...

During 4 years, by listening to Robert Conrad on his CRN tuesday Talk show, I have imagined adventures I could invent, create, but nothing… Only just in my imagination, sometimes rich and very often empty… Just wanted to write how Jim West influenced my life as a kid… 

Inventing, drawing, erasing and… …early nothing. 

Just in my mind.

I have imagined too what can be important in life, what remain in a life, when the characters are behind the man, when the body is broken and when only soul and minds are the guides.  The Man behind the Heroe is interesting me… …and i imagined what he could say or think.  Uncle Bob instead of Jim West, Greg Boyington or Pasquinnel !

2014. New idea, new strip, just a trailer...

The man behind the heroes is a brand new hero, not indestructible but just old human ; all the enemies are just a pretext to talk about life, couple, friendship, time… 

Next step ?

I have met some guys that are just crazy too… And maybe I think that this must be important to go futher.

Je me souviens avoir vu "la Nuit du Monstre Marin" chez mon ami Marc en Juillet 1974. J'avais été tellement impressionné par l'ambiance et l'histoire de cet épisode des Mystères de l'Ouest qu'immédiatement après, j'avais pris mes crayons pour le recréer à ma façon, toujours avec passion. C'est la toute première planche que j'ai dessiné. Robert Conrad était mon idole. J'avais 12 ans. J'en ai maintenant 49 et il demeure à jamais le héros de mon adolescence.


This is the first adventure I've drawn after having seen and been so impressed by the Night of the Kraken, my favorite Wild wild West episode. I was twelve and Robert Conrad was my idol. Now I'm 49 and still he is.
